We continued touring to a variety of large and small events around the country and BBC Radio 4 broadcast a half-hour documentary on the troupe called ‘On Tour with The Pierrotters’ as a Kaleidoscope Special, made by Pier Productions’ maestro and our dear friend Peter Hoare. This resulted in us reaching an even wider audience and coverage in the press such as the Stage.
Boy Gacko took over the administration of the group for this season, with support from Squacko and there was a flurry of Rotternews activity. This became especially acute when Dirty Doctor Dacko decided to leave the act, which he did after a final farewell performance on Morecambe seafront, at which he was ritually assassinated by the rest of us during our finale number in front of the crowd – since which time, he has always been referred to as ‘Dirty Doctor Dacko Deceased’ or ‘D4’.  We decided to audition for the vacant role…
